Dignity/Seattle Does Spuds On Tuesday, October 16, four Dignity/Seattle members together with almost a dozen volunteers from other organizations sorted through several tons of potatoes to rescue over 7100 pounds of perfectly edible spuds. Also recovered were a few oddly shaped spuds that would unlikely be found in a grocery store. The potatoes were boxed, weighed, stacked on pallets, and staged for an early morning pickup for distribution to approximately 275 food banks in Western Washington. We hope you can join us for our next Food Lifeline volunteer evening on Tuesday, December 4th. |

Summer Picnic 2018 Ten members and friends enjoyed a real feast at Becky's home in North Seattle on Saturday, July 28th. As last year, Dignity/Seattle provided the burgers, dog, and buns while attendees contributed a wide assortment of salads, sides, drinks, and desserts. The weather was perfect under the shade of Becky's large backyard tree. Vasco did a superb job as this year's grill master. Thanks to Becky for again hosting the summer picnic at her home's lovely backyard. Wishing everyone a pleasant second half to our Seattle summer. - the Dignity/Seattle Board |
