Call to Action of Western Washington is sponsoring a talk by Heidi Schlumpf, from the National Catholic Reporter and author of several books, who will address issues on the hearts and minds of many seeking reform within the Catholic Church. In her topic Resistance Within and Outside the Church Heidi will speak about young energetic activists who initiated the Women’s March, the #Me-too movement, and the Parkland student events. She will connect this activist energy to Catholic reform movements that are linking both younger and more seasoned reformers in pressing for change within the Pope Francis Era Church. What can these movements learn from one another? Schlumpf will offer some tips and focus on role models from both “secular” and church resistance movements.
